Unlocking Space-Derived Data for Opportunities Across Scotland and East Anglia
As a not-for-profit organisation, Space Scotland contributes to the growth of the Scottish space sectors. With goals including the development of a thriving space economy and a more diverse workforce that reflects Scottish society, our mission is to establish Scotland as a hub for commercial space developments.
The results of our work reach critical areas of the nation’s space industry, from small satellite manufacturing to managed orbital launch services. We also support the commercialization of space-sourced data and promote collaboration between the Scottish space sector and academic institutions, upholding our legacy in contributing to large-scale space missions in conjunction with organisations like NASA and the European Space Agency.
An industry-led initiative that originated in late 2016, Space Scotland formalised in 2021 as a not-for-profit company to actively support Scotland’s ‘end-to-end’ space ecosystem and value chain. This initiative continues to support the uniting of stakeholders from governments, academic institutions, and other key players in the space industry to continue propelling Scotland's space sector forward.
