A working group set up in 2020 to bring together the Scottish space industry with environmental groups and government partners to better understand the impact of the space industry on the environment (Earth and in-orbit) and explore how to contribute to wider Net Zero aims.
Space Scotland is driven by a vibrant series of Working Groups. Each group is open to any members of the Council and regularly includes non-members and wider UK space sector representation to ensure a range of diverse voices are heard.
The New Voices working group focuses on guiding Space Scotland members on practices relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI), as the sector seeks to develop its workforce of the future.
The Skills working group discusses what is required to create the ideal space careers pipeline for the future, highlighting the roles that the sector is expected to require in order for its rapid growth to continue.
A platform established to simplify cooperation between Scotland’s five developing spaceports, together with launch sites around the rest of the UK. A concordant was signed by members in 2020 to share best practice and encourage a collaborative approach to spaceflight in the UK.
